JEFFREY JONES

Lyrics By Ryan Ramsdell
and Joel Hill

Come on and sit right down, and rest them weary bones.
Gunna tell you the tale -now- of Jeffrey Jones.
He was a cold hearted bastard, 'til the day he died,
And in the lake of fire now, is where he resides.

In the dead of night, he'd stagger thru the streets
Like a ship with no sail, adrift out to sea.
Current leads you not… often far.
And for Jeffrey Jones, it was always the next bar.

Chor.
Cuz a Skull and Crossbones is a likely defense,
When yer killing yer enemies and plundering with friends.
But it does you no good when a 40 pound ball,
Comes crashing thru the hull -devil’s laughing- just got yer soul.

He wore tats on his hands, he was a hard livin' man.
When the tender would ask, 'Give me the worst you can.'
Even the roughest men, have a weaknest to hide.
For jeffrey jones, it was homocide.

Now he had no kids, and he had no wife.
Cuz the children he drown, did his wife by the knife.
Then jumped on a boat, got the hell out to sea.
Captain gave him a job, he was feeling so free

(Chor.)

Until the crows nest shouted, halfway on their trip.
Another vessel was spotted, a pirate hunting ship.
They fled with the wind, and escaped this time.
To another port, to enjoy more crime.

When he landed again, he hooked up with a girl
Made sure she was cheap, and naive to the world.
Cuz planned to use her, for as long as he's 'round.
When it was leavin time, he'd bury her in the ground.

(Chor.)

Outside of St. Martin, the hunter found its prey.
All guns aim for the crew, cannon lay to waste.
If the flames didn’t kill you, the splinters likely would
And poor Jeffrey Jones, finally understood.

That the wrong he did, was being made alright.
Thru the murderous rage, of this bloody fight.
And the devil was done, and the devil would scoff.
The last shot of cannon, took Jeffrey’s head clean off!

Chor.
Cuz a Skull and Crossbones is a likely defense,
When yer killing yer enemies and plundering with friends.
But it does you no good when a 40 pound ball,
Comes crashing thru the hull -devil’s laughing- just got yer soul.
